Partners attending offsites experienced a 24% increase in new work requests, and 17% of new working relationships continued to generate revenue a full two years later.

Hot off the press: Law.com has published our groundbreaking research demonstrating – with hardcore data and analytics – the value of firm offsites for boosting smarter collaboration.
With co-authors Madeline K. Kneeland (of Babson University) and Adam M. Kleinbaum (of Dartmouth), the article shows how leaders can use retreats to drive collaboration and business growth. (Hint: The great results don’t magically appear just by bringing people together; they require strategic intent beyond updates, talking-head panels, or edu-tainment.)
And it gives the numbers to back up just how much return on investment you can expect (as in, 24% increase post-offsite in partners requesting new peers to join their client work). The findings are based on an eight-year study of nearly 350,000 collaborations across 750-plus partners in a global professional firm.
To see both the “how” and the “how much,” check out the article. If you have any trouble accessing it or want to discuss further, email contact@gardnerandco.co. We’d love to hear your recommendations for capturing the return on investment of partner/all-firm retreats.
